He said a sensor fitted in the ship segregates
Haaziq Kazi, who named his ship "Ervis", presented his idea to an
international audience on platforms like TedEx and Ted8. Other sensors fitted in
the ships hull toward the bottom detect marine life and water to separate them
from the waste.Pune: A 12-year-old boy in Pune claims to have designed a ship
that will help clean up the oceans and save marine life. He is working with
conservation organisations and forums to create awareness about the ill effects
of ocean plastic pollution and ways to prevent it.Kazi said the idea of
designing a ship came when he was nine years old."I watched some documentaries
and realised the impact waste has on marine life. I felt I had to do something.
"Marine life and water are sent back to the ocean, while waste is segregated
into five more parts," Kazi said.
He said a sensor fitted in the ship segregates
the plastic waste according to its size. The machine he designed sucks in water
from the ocean, which is then segregated between marine life and waste. The fish
we eat are eating plastic in the ocean, so the cycle of pollution cosmetic packaging Factory comes to us.
Hence, I came up with Ervis," Kazi said

The interior decorator
That’s what I want to teach them. We also create items with waste that our
customers may bring in. Both the installations got an amazing response. Doesn’t
sound likely Well that’s exactly what a few people in the city are doing —
putting waste to good use. It is a much better option than just discarding it.
She tells us, "One example is the grass bench that we made, for parks and
gardens in the city. "Inorganic waste has to be upcycled. Bhairavi Malkani of
Creative BoxWhen Bhairavi Malkani first wanted to put waste to good use, it was
just for her own creative purposes. The idea is to get people closer to nature
even when they sit in a cosmetic
packaging garden or a park. A few years later I put up my first art
installation in Kala Ghoda, which was a model of a mountain and a river made
just out of plastic bottles. The interior decorator, who has so far put up two
full-size art installations made of upcycled plastic bottles at the city’s
iconic Kala Ghoda festival, tells us, "There are so many trekkers who just throw
away bottles during a trek.Imagine decorating your house, garden or a nearby
park with just waste."IKheti (NGO): Bandra-based environment enthusiast Priyanka
Amar founded her NGO iKheti as a way to inspire city-dwellers to take up
farming. "My focus is to create items out of things that people use on a daily
basis. She says, "There are a lot of people who are interested in putting waste
to creative use, but don’t know how. However, a huge part of doing that revolves
around putting your everyday waste to creative use." Her workshop includes
lessons on how to make an earring holder out of a tissue roll tube or a book
rack using a cereal box. One day I decided to pick them all up and do something
with it. Right from decorative items to big art installations put up at
festivals, all made out of plastic bottles to vegetable peels, a few artists and
environment enthusiasts are doing their bit to solve Mumbai’s waste problems."
Priyanka also set up her own shop in Bandra under iKheti, where she sells
products, which are useful for farming and gardening. Today, in a little more
than three years, she has conducted workshops to create products that people
would like to bring in to their homes rather than discard." Natasha D’Costa,
artist and interior decoratorNatasha’s passion for doing something creative with
waste springs from her passion for trekking.". She says. The first time I did
something with waste was in 2011. We have a lot of items like a planter that is
made out of bottles and bird cages. I started a community program with the Mt
Carmel Church in Bandra where I got the community to make a Christmas tree out
of plastic and glass bottles

The Skullcandy Riff Wireless are supra-aural headphones
The Skullcandy Riff Wireless are supra-aural
headphones which basically mean that they’re of the on-ear variety. Skullcandy’s
signature sound delivers in spades and these headphones are certainly ones that
should be worth considering. The brand is no slouch when it comes to audio
quality as well as keeping in line with their design mantra, the output of their
products tend to be bass heavy and this appeals to the demographic they target.
The overall feel is very comfortable and I give full marks to the brand for
taking this minute point into consideration that can go a long way in its
general usability. Some headphones come with a rubber padding to keep the
headphone from slipping off. It features an overall matte finish that helps in
reducing the grit that arises from fingerprint residue.VerdictThe Skullcandy
Riff Wireless is priced at Rs 6,000 in India and they feature a lightweight
design and comfortable ear cushions that can be worn for hours together.
However, its worth mentioning that its an easier task to adjust the tracks from
the music source as its not only quicker but also leaves no room for
error.(Source).Recently, Skullcandy has built upon its headphone portfolio by
adding a premium mid-range headphone termed as Riff Wireless aimed at those who
want to live life on-the-go as they feature stylish looks, a massive 12-hour
battery life, lightweight and durable construction as well bass that said to be
bone-shaking.The battery life is rated at 12 hours on a single charge and it
does have a rapid charge feature that allows you to get up to two hours worth of
playback on just a 10-minute charge. The earpads are fitted with a faux leather
cover over the cream jar
manufacturers cushioning that feels extremely soft.Overall, the design of
the headphones does gather the right amount of attention and the build quality
is something that I have really grown to appreciate despite my initial
misgivings. However, battery performance also does depend on the volume level
and person to person usage. The right ear cup is hone to the controls which
include a multi-function button that’s used for power/pairing, answering and
cutting calls as well as accessing your voice assistant. With the Riff Wireless,
there’s absolutely none. This plays a massive role for those who use headphones
for longer periods as apart from audio quality, comfort is a very important
factor while purchasing headphones. The headphones are made entirely out of
plastic and they don’t feel all that sturdy. Considering the price of these cans
@ Rs 6,000, I expected the brand to package to be refined. This feature is
pretty standard on headphones these days and nothing really special about it. It
took me just a couple of minutes with it to change my opinion, for the better.
In certain bass-heavy tracks, I found that the mids would get a bit overwhelmed
by the bass and in the process, they tend to recess the vocals. The design
philosophy of their headphones range from the funky to the ‘notice-me-now’ and
people absolutely love it.Design, BuildUpon unboxing the Riff Wireless, I was
actually left wanting. The Skullcandy Riff Wireless comes in a bold design that
and keeps up the traditional artistic impression that the brand’s headphones are
synonymous with. The bass has enough of a punch that resonates in its impact but
at times it does have the tendency to spill over into the mids. In all honesty,
I find all three colour options to be appealing but for me, the Grey version
stands out the most because of its subtle Teal accents on the cushions and the
branding. In our labs, I received a Grey/Teal variant for review and I was
excited from the get-go. In fact, if just handled, they feel really clunky and
it rattles like crazy. While they may feel cheap and you might question its
build quality, you can be rest assured that its built to last. This helped
change my opinion about the build quality quite drastically and I have been
impressed ever since.PerformanceThe Skullcandy Riff Wireless comes with 40mm
drivers in each can that can produce a frequency range of 20Hz to 20KHz and has
an impedance of 32 Ohms. This isn’t to say that it lacks the highs, it does and
it manages to balance out bass-heavy audio. While the earpads are well cushioned,
it’s rather strange that the headband has absolutely none.Rating: Over the years
Skullcandy has built a reputation for themselves by launching products that
adhere to the youth, the rebels, the freethinkers and everyone in between. In
this unit, we also find the buttons for controlling the volume as well as
changing the tracks. The headphones come in three colour options, all Black,
Blue/Sunset and Grey/Teal. The headband is really strong and can withstand a lot
of tension which surprised me a lot considering how fragile it looked. The
headphones are really light in weight and appear to be made of plastic that
looks too fragile to last the unboxing. The adjustments are pretty strong though
and they don’t easily slip off your head even while undertaking strenuous
activities.1 headphones do come with features that are on par with products in
its price range. During testing, I observed similar battery performance with the
volume set to about 50 per cent. Instead, it was packaged in cheap-feeling
plastic along with a small box that held the micro USB charging cable and the
instruction manual. As far as highs go, the reach is sufficient without having
the overreaching sparkle that we find on headphones that cost a pretty penny
more. These headphones don’t have much in the way going for it in terms of
features as they are a standard pair without any additional tech embedded in
them such as Active Noise Cancelling and auto play/pause.The Riff Wireless
features the sweet bass output that Skullcandy is known to deliver. The audio
performance is pretty stellar and they definitely appeal to those looking for a
bass-heavy sound. They actually do feel like they will break if a bit of force
is applied to them; however, this couldn’t be farther from the truth. Below the
buttons is the micro USB charging port that supports a quick charge feature. Not
to be deterred, I removed the headphones from the packaging and my initial
excitement was dashed
